Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Online: From Le Pho to Sanyu, which included the work Balinese Landscape with Monkeys by Theo Meier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 50,400.00 (€ 5,708.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theo Meier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rejang Dance in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 5,440,000.00 (€ 515,772.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Online: From Le Pho to Sanyu durch, in der auch die Arbeit Balinese Landscape with Monkeys von Theo Meier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 50.400,00 (€ 5.708,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theo Meier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rejang Dance im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.440.000,00 (€ 515.772,45).
