Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, Part II, which included the work Saint Dorothy And Saint Anthony Abbot by The Master of The Ashmolean Predella. The price achieved of USD 16,800.00 (€ 13,307.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by The Master of The Ashmolean Predella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna and Child enthroned with Saints John the Baptist, Peter, Lawrence, Zenobius, Catherine of Alexandria, Lucy, Anthony Abbot and Eustace, with angels in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 146,500.00 (€ 184,782.56).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.800,00 (€ 13.307,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von The Master of The Ashmolean Predella erzielen.
