Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work A Lion, Lioness and two cubs by Sydenham Edwards was sold in the Master Paintings and Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,417.94). Other works by Sydenham Edwards have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 3,120.00 (€ 2,364.17) in December 2006 for the work The New Botanic Garden: Twelve Plates.
