Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Syd Solomon could be acquired at Christies in New York in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Seaborn; and a companion work on paper changed hands for USD 937.50 (€ 595.31) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Syd Solomon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rocky Shore 10 1/2 x 17 in. (26.7 x 43.2 cm) framed 19 x 23 1/2 x 2 in. (under glass), which sold at auction in March this year for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,759.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Syd Solomon konnte im Juni 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Seaborn; and a companion work on paper für USD 937,50 (€ 595,31) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Syd Solomon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rocky Shore 10 1/2 x 17 in. (26.7 x 43.2 cm) framed 19 x 23 1/2 x 2 in. (under glass) beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.759,11) versteigert wurde.
