Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Vessel by Susan Derges was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,340.32). Admittedly, works by Susan Derges have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images From 'Full Circle' in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,958.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Vessel von Susan Derges im Juni 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.340,32) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Susan Derges auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images From 'Full Circle' im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 20.958,35).
