Description
SUN YUNSHENG (1918-2000) Lotus Scroll, mounted on cardboard and framed, ink and colour on paper 23.5 x 26.7 cm. (9 1 ⁄ 4 x 10 1 ⁄ 2 in.) Inscribed and signed, with two seals of the artist Dated eighth month, gengshen year (1980) Dedicated to Ruisheng and Madame Peishan NOTE: The recipients are Ruisheng and madam Peishan are the son-in-law and daughter of Huang Tiancai, who has a deep friendship with Zhang Daqian.

In September last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Lotus by Sun Yunsheng. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 16,380.00 (€ 2,131.43), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sun Yunsheng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lotus in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 354,000.00 (€ 40,167.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lotus von Sun Yunsheng zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 16.380,00 (€ 2.131,43) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sun Yunsheng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lotus im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 354.000,00 (€ 40.167,08).
