This artwork by Su Liupeng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Gathering Of Eighteen Scholars sold for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 38,361.63) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. This high result makes Gathering Of Eighteen Scholars the most expensive artwork by Su Liupeng that we have observed at auctions so far.
