Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A young gentleman, in a black coat and yellow waistcoat by Stephen Taylor was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 179.25 (€ 270.89). Admittedly, works by Stephen Taylor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hanging Grey Partridge in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,562.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A young gentleman, in a black coat and yellow waistcoat von Stephen Taylor im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 179,25 (€ 270,89) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen Taylor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hanging Grey Partridge im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.562,74).
