Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Stephen Shore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in May last year. In the Lorenz Bäumer Collectionneur ! auction, the work Merced River, Yosemite National Park, 1979 sold for EUR 16,380.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stephen Shore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beverly Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, California, June 21, which sold at auction in November last year for GBP 32,760.00 (€ 37,961.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Stephen Shore erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Lorenz Bäumer Collectionneur ! wurde die Arbeit Merced River, Yosemite National Park, 1979 für EUR 16.380,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Stephen Shore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beverly Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, California, June 21 beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für GBP 32.760,00 (€ 37.961,36) versteigert wurde.
