In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Composition by Stephen Gilbert. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,389.35), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Gilbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man and Horse in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,722.34).

Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition von Stephen Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.389,35) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen Gilbert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man and Horse im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.722,34).
