Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Old Man Of Hoy by Stanley Cursiter was sold in the Scottish & Sporting Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in August 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,950.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Cursiter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ribbon Counter in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 406,310.46).

Die Arbeit The Old Man Of Hoy von Stanley Cursiter wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Scottish & Sporting Pictures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.950,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
