Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work British loch Macatrick by Stanley Cursiter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 6,600.00 (€ 3,852.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Cursiter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ribbon Counter in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 406,310.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British loch Macatrick von Stanley Cursiter zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 6.600,00 (€ 3.852,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Cursiter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Ribbon Counter im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 406.310,46).
