Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British cormorant Fishing by Stanley Cursiter was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 11,400.00 (€ 6,654.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Cursiter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ribbon Counter in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 406,310.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British cormorant Fishing von Stanley Cursiter kam im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 11.400,00 (€ 6.654,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Cursiter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Ribbon Counter im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 406.310,46).
