Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Parchedflownbreathsdownyease by Stanley Boxer was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,255.30). Admittedly, works by Stanley Boxer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lafayette Blush in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,506.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Parchedflownbreathsdownyease von Stanley Boxer im April 2010 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.255,30) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stanley Boxer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lafayette Blush im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.506,82).
