In November 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek Patission Street, Athens by Spyros Vassiliou. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 199,250.00 (€ 218,053.44), 66% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Greek Patission Street, Athens the most expensive artwork by Spyros Vassiliou that we have observed at auctions so far.
