Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greek Mousky Street; A Sibyl On Mousky; View Of The Nile At Gizireh; View Of The Dashur Pyramids (4 Works) by Spyridon Scarvelli was sold in the 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 8,832.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Spyridon Scarvelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piraeus, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,488.22).

Die Arbeit Greek Mousky Street; A Sibyl On Mousky; View Of The Nile At Gizireh; View Of The Dashur Pyramids (4 Works) von Spyridon Scarvelli wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 8.832,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Spyridon Scarvelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piraeus beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.488,22) versteigert wurde.
