In April 2011 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art, which included the work Untitled (Woman with a blue headscarf) by Souad Mardam Bey. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,120.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Untitled (Woman with a blue headscarf) is the most expensive artwork by Souad Mardam Bey that we have observed at auctions so far.
