Despite a disappointment, a good price for Smart
When this work without title by Smart was auctioned at Bonhams in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 408.00 (€ 479.29). Despite this disappointing result, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Smart that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Smart
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Smart im März 2021 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 408,00 (€ 479,29) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Smart, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
