Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work From a window, Temple by William George Gillies. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,670.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William George Gillies achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spotted Leopard in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,139.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit From a window, Temple von William George Gillies zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.670,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William George Gillies erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spotted Leopard im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.139,09).
