This price was achieved in the auction Scottish Art at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by William George Gillies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Spotted Leopard in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,139.09).
