Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2014 Christies in London held the auction The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision, which included the work Montana by Walter Thomas Monnington. The price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,123.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Thomas Monnington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Allegory No. 2, which sold at auction in March 2014 for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,723.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit Montana von Walter Thomas Monnington zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.123,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Thomas Monnington mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Allegory No. 2 beobachtet, die im März 2014 für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.723,29) versteigert wurde.
