This artwork by John Soane achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2005. In the British Art on Paper auction, the work Design For An Entrance To Hyde Park: Elevations Next To The Road And Next To The Park, With Plan (Recto); And Elevations And Plans of The Gate'S And Lodge (Verso) sold for GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,583.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Soane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Design for a National Monument in September 2013 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,401.09).

In der Auktion British Art on Paper wurde die Arbeit Design For An Entrance To Hyde Park: Elevations Next To The Road And Next To The Park, With Plan (Recto); And Elevations And Plans of The Gate'S And Lodge (Verso) für GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.583,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Soane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Design for a National Monument im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 25.401,09).
