Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work The tribute money by George Hayter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,068.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Hayter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 46,800.00 (€ 69,360.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The tribute money von George Hayter zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 8.068,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Hayter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.800,00 (€ 69.360,56).
