Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self-portrait of the artist by George Hayter was sold in the British and Victorian Paintings auction at Christies in London in September 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,289.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Hayter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 46,800.00 (€ 69,360.56).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.800,00 (€ 69.360,56).
