The work Portrait of John VIII, Count of Nassau-Siegen (1583-1638), three-quarter-length by Anthony van Dyck was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. It achieved a price of USD 1,950,000.00 (€ 1,674,250.88), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthony van Dyck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Princess Mary (1631–1660), daughter of King Charles I of England, full-length, in a pink dress decorated with silver embroidery and ribbons, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 5,858,750.00 (€ 6,527,167.10).

Die Arbeit Portrait of John VIII, Count of Nassau-Siegen (1583-1638), three-quarter-length von Anthony van Dyck kam im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.950.000,00 (€ 1.674.250,88) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthony van Dyck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Princess Mary (1631–1660), daughter of King Charles I of England, full-length, in a pink dress decorated with silver embroidery and ribbons beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für GBP 5.858.750,00 (€ 6.527.167,10) versteigert wurde.
