Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Sir Sidney NolanSelected works from the Estate of Lady Nolan, which included the work Central Australia Landscape, c.1968 by Sidney Nolan. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 8,610.00 (€ 7,628.24), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sidney Nolan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gully (Ned Kelly) in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 264,500.00 (€ 359,410.63).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Sir Sidney NolanSelected works from the Estate of Lady Nolan durch, in der auch die Arbeit Central Australia Landscape, c.1968 von Sidney Nolan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 8.610,00 (€ 7.628,24) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sidney Nolan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gully (Ned Kelly) im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 264.500,00 (€ 359.410,63).
