Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bird dish 4 x 38 x 25cm (1 9/16 x 14 15/16 x 13 3/4in). by Siddig El Nigoumi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in August last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 484.50 (€ 560.65). Admittedly, works by Siddig El Nigoumi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blue Lidded Pot (1976) in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,812.00 (€ 5,585.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bird dish 4 x 38 x 25cm (1 9/16 x 14 15/16 x 13 3/4in). von Siddig El Nigoumi im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 484,50 (€ 560,65) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Siddig El Nigoumi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blue Lidded Pot (1976) im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.812,00 (€ 5.585,14).
