Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with Chrysanthemums 46 x 30 in. framed 36 1/2 x 52 1/2 in. by Shirley Marie Russell was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 384.00 (€ 352.04). Other works by Shirley Marie Russell have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November this year by the work Harbor Scene 18 x 24 in. framed 26 1/2 x 32 1/2 in. at USD 486.40 (€ 445.91).

Als die Arbeit Still Life with Chrysanthemums 46 x 30 in. framed 36 1/2 x 52 1/2 in. von Shirley Marie Russell im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 384,00 (€ 352,04) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Shirley Marie Russell wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November diesen Jahres die Arbeit Harbor Scene 18 x 24 in. framed 26 1/2 x 32 1/2 in. mit USD 486,40 (€ 445,91).
