Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Winged Pilgrims (Robes) # 2 by Sheba Chhachhi was sold in the South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2012. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,999.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sheba Chhachhi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seventy Synonyms of Water in Sanskrit, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,368.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Winged Pilgrims (Robes) # 2 von Sheba Chhachhi wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.999,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sheba Chhachhi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seventy Synonyms of Water in Sanskrit beobachtet, die im September 2016 für USD 37.500,00 (€ 33.368,93) versteigert wurde.
