When the work A Lineated Barbet, Megalaima Lineate, On A Juniper Tree by Shaikh Zayn-Al-Din was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 15,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at GBP 60,000.00 (€ 89,036.98). This high result makes A Lineated Barbet, Megalaima Lineate, On A Juniper Tree the most expensive artwork by Shaikh Zayn-Al-Din that we have observed at auctions so far.
