In May 2000 Christies in Milan held the auction Arte del XX secolo, which included the work Composizione by Sergio Romiti. The »bidding war« ended at ITL 16,450,000.00 (€ 14,108.06), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sergio Romiti; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Composizione sold at auction in November 2000 with the realized price of ITL 28,200,000.00 (€ 25,948.93).

Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Arte del XX secolo durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composizione von Sergio Romiti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von ITL 16.450.000,00 (€ 14.108,06) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sergio Romiti; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Composizione im November 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von ITL 28.200.000,00 (€ 25.948,93).
