Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sixteen portrait studies of American Presidents including: Franklin D Roosevelt; Thomas Jefferson; Lyndon B Johnson; John F Kennedy (illustrated); George Washington and others by Septimus Edwin Scott was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in October 2006. The price achieved of GBP 456.00 (€ 681.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Septimus Edwin Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunday Morning in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,920.26).
