Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th & 20th Century Sculpture, which included the work Bust of a young American girl, Miss Moulton by Sarah Bernhardt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,865.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sarah Bernhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ophelia in February 2017 with an auction result of GBP 308,750.00 (€ 361,352.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th & 20th Century Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bust of a young American girl, Miss Moulton von Sarah Bernhardt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.865,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sarah Bernhardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ophelia im Februar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 308.750,00 (€ 361.352,07).
