Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Warung Pojok (Corner Stall) by Sapto Sugiyo Utomo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 65,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,147.99). Admittedly, works by Sapto Sugiyo Utomo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tenda Biru in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 259,500.00 (€ 21,386.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Warung Pojok (Corner Stall) von Sapto Sugiyo Utomo im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.147,99) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sapto Sugiyo Utomo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tenda Biru im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 259.500,00 (€ 21.386,08).
