Despite a disappointment, a good price for Salvatore Cartaino Scarpitta
When the work Mary Keith by Salvatore Cartaino Scarpitta was auctioned at Bonhams in Marlborough, Massachusetts in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 768.00 (€ 720.86).
