Auction result well in line with expectations
The work My Garden Gate by Rutherford Boyd was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,707.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rutherford Boyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flower Garden, Irises And Poppies in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 31,070.24).

Die Arbeit My Garden Gate von Rutherford Boyd kam im Juli 2020 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.707,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rutherford Boyd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flower Garden, Irises And Poppies im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 31.070,24).
