Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Femme Lisant (Woman Reading) by Rupert Bunny was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in May 2009. The price achieved of AUD 228,000.00 (€ 129,010.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rupert Bunny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Femme Lisant, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 301,250.00 (€ 333,277.13).

Die Arbeit Australian Femme Lisant (Woman Reading) von Rupert Bunny kam im Mai 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 228.000,00 (€ 129.010,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Rupert Bunny mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Femme Lisant beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 301.250,00 (€ 333.277,13) versteigert wurde.
