Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Rudolf August Wilhelm Lehmann could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Portrait of a gentleman, quarter-length, in a black jacket and red bow-tie changed hands for GBP 358.50 (€ 541.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolf August Wilhelm Lehmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Graziella in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 16,800.00 (€ 13,152.74).
