Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Friedrich Franz I, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1756-1837), wearing the black uniform of the Mecklenburg infantry, a sash and badge of the order of the Black Eagle of Prussia and of the Red Eagle of Prussia by Rudolph Friedrich Carl Suhrlandt for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,810.65). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000 Admittedly, works by Rudolph Friedrich Carl Suhrlandt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Antonio Canova (i); and Portrait of Bertel Thorvaldsen (ii) in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,724.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Friedrich Franz I, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1756-1837), wearing the black uniform of the Mecklenburg infantry, a sash and badge of the order of the Black Eagle of Prussia and of the Red Eagle of Prussia von Rudolph Friedrich Carl Suhrlandt für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.810,65) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rudolph Friedrich Carl Suhrlandt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Antonio Canova (i); and Portrait of Bertel Thorvaldsen (ii) im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.724,17).
