In July 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Campfire by moonlight by Roy De Forest for EUR 4,750.00. This price was achieved in the auction Collection de Madame Darthea Speyer, une Américaine à Paris (Vente Sans Prix de Réserve) at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy De Forest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Steamship of Fate in July 2015 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,341.31).
