Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 'Yacht America - c.1856' by Roy Cross was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,176.00 (€ 2,498.65). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roy Cross - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Frigate Of The Swedish Navy, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,795.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 'Yacht America - c.1856' von Roy Cross wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.176,00 (€ 2.498,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Roy Cross mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Frigate Of The Swedish Navy beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.795,23) versteigert wurde.
