Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Rosemary Madigan was sold in the THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION auction at Christies in Sydney in March 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,468.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rosemary Madigan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 43,020.00 (€ 25,392.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rosemary Madigan wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 4.182,50 (€ 2.468,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rosemary Madigan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 43.020,00 (€ 25.392,40).
