Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Abstract Composition (Untitled) by Rolph Scarlett for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,188.37). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Rolph Scarlett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,276.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Abstract Composition (Untitled) von Rolph Scarlett für USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.188,37) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 14.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rolph Scarlett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.276,34).
