A Colonel De Gardes Du Corps Du Roi, in red-collared black coat with silver facings, epaulettes and aiguillettes, black stock, wearing the red moiré sash and breast-star of the Spanish Royal Military Order of San Fernando and the star of the third class (1815-1856) and the second class orders of the French Legion of Honour and of St Louis

A top price for Rodolphe Bel - as previously expected
The work Unknown by Rodolphe Bel was sold in the Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Glass, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction at Christies in London in June 2011. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,914.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unknown is the most expensive artwork by Rodolphe Bel that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Unknown von Rodolphe Bel wurde im Juni 2011 in der Auktion Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Glass, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 6.914,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Unknown das teuerste Kunstwerk von Rodolphe Bel, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
