Sold at the lower estimate price
The work The Grotta del Cane, near Naples; and The Herculaneum Gate at Pompeii by Robert Roberti was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2017. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,702.72) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Roberti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View of Venice with the Doge's Palace, Saint Mark's Campanile and Santa Maria della Salute in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 33,627.98).
