Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Thames below Kew (illustrated); and Evening near St. Ives by Robert Winchester Fraser was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in September 2005. The price achieved of GBP 660.00 (€ 968.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Winchester Fraser have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the Isle of Ely in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,586.40).
