This artwork by Robert W. Milliken achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2001. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work Grouse in flight; and Partridge in flight sold for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,969.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert W. Milliken; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mallards In Flight sold at auction in November 2004 with the realized price of GBP 2,031.50 (€ 2,922.30).
