A top price for Robert S.E. Coram - as previously expected
In July 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS, which included the work "I really must protest, Mr. Dauber. You're lowering the tone of our gallery!" by Robert S.E. Coram. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 537.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, "I really must protest, Mr. Dauber. You're lowering the tone of our gallery!" is the most expensive artwork by Robert S.E. Coram that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS durch, in der auch die Arbeit "I really must protest, Mr. Dauber. You're lowering the tone of our gallery!" von Robert S.E. I really must protest, Mr. Dauber. You're lowering the tone of our gallery!" das teuerste Kunstwerk von Robert S.E. Coram, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
