Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work The Blue Wall by Robert Motherwell for USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,376.41). This price was achieved in the auction Fields of Vision: The Private Collection of Artists Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason Live Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Blue Wall von Robert Motherwell für USD 18.750,00 (€ 15.376,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fields of Vision: The Private Collection of Artists Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason Live Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen.
