In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Peter Langan: A Life with Art, which included the work Shepherd and his sheep by Robert Marchant. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,466.56), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Marchant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peter Langan's feast for David Hockney at Glyndebourne to celebrate the first night of the "The Rake's Progress" in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 40,850.00 (€ 50,379.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Peter Langan: A Life with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shepherd and his sheep von Robert Marchant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.466,56) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Marchant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peter Langan's feast for David Hockney at Glyndebourne to celebrate the first night of the "The Rake's Progress" im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.850,00 (€ 50.379,39).
